Litton Luxury

Brought together three parts of the family for a most enjoyable week in superb accommodation and wonderful countryside. Bring your walking shoes as the walks around the Mill vary from level river strolls to fairly strenuous hill challenges. Good pub food at the Anglers Arms, just 1.5 miles away, to excellent fare at the Red Lion, Litton.
Look forward to coming again with other family members!

Litton Mill

We have just returned from stay visit to 6 Phoenix Building with family, (June/July). The apartment is fantastic, extremely spacious with the 3 bedrooms and 3 bathroom, not to mention the excellent open plan living area . It had everything we could want for a stay in the Peaks. Right on the Monsal Trail with access to Buxton and Bakewell and only a short ride from Castleton and Edale – all the places we wanted to visit. It is truly a great location, lots of walking straight from the apartment and everything you need to relax in the evening after a long day’s activities.
I would definitely recommend the Litton Mill for anyone looking to explore the peaks and to have everything on your doorstep in a luxury accommodation.

Distinct holiday apartment

High ceilings, voluminous rooms, all amenities....this is your base for a different sort of holiday in the Peak District. The narrow road runs for a mile along the tumbling river. There, where the road ends, is your spectacular old cotton mill, converted into comfortable apartments. We were just a couple so we rattled around the spacious property. The large TV in the living room/kitchen was welcome as was the set in the main bedroom, although we struggled to get SKY channels.
The weather was unkind to us but every comfort is available. There are herons to be seen from the windows as well as squirrels. Wifi was ok for browsing but suggest that it would be worth bringing a selection of favourite DVDs.
One downside....we found the heating (flaming June!) insufficient.

Lovely apartment

Five of us have just enjoyed three nights at the superb Litton Mill - our second stay at number 6. Great location for walking and didn't need to use our cars. Well equipped, comfortable, stylish and very clean. We would strongly recommend this property despite the slow Wi-Fi.

Excellent apartment

We have just returned from a 5 day visit to 6 Phoenix Building. The apartment is superb being both large and comfortable. All rooms were very clean and well equipped for a comfortable stay. We particularly appreciated that each of the three bedrooms had an en suite. The situation of the apartment within the old mill is ideal with lovely views from most of the windows over the river. We enjoyed watching squirrels and other wildlife whilst relaxing in the lounge. The whole place was very peaceful and you could access some lovely walks right outside the apartment. We enjoyed meals in the pub down the road which is easily walkable if the weather allows. We are happy to recommend this apartment to our family and friends and would be pleased to use the accommodation again when visiting the area.

Superb apartment

We stayed at Litton Mill in April and had a fantastic time. The apartment has one of the best positions in the restored mill with views out the window of the river and the suns shining in most of the day. The rooms are vast but cosy and comfortable. The twin and master bedrooms are large with great en-suite bathrooms, the double is a little tighter for space but didn’t bother our son. The beds are all comfy and the blackout curtains great for sleeping. The lounge is a super space to relax and enjoy the peaceful location and the kitchen has everything you need for your holiday. The only thing to note is the WI-FI is very slow - good enough for basic but not streaming anything so go armed with DVD’s to make use of the huge TV and surround sound. Tricia and Gary were great with communication when the internet wasn’t working on our arrival (even when they were away themselves). Would highly recommend Litton Mill and hope to go back sometime.

Hi Sharon thanks for the great review. For others reading this, yes the internet is not great - a downside of the location of the apartment is you're miles away from the exchange so speed is not the best!

Fantastic location

Family getaway in a spacious apartment with amazing views. Location perfect for walking and exploring the area. Anglers Rest pub at the top of the lane very friendly with good food. Well furnished apartment and quiet at night with parking.

Really spacious apartment

Pictures don’t do justice to this beautiful apartment, really large rooms with high ceilings, 3rd bedroom bathroom a little tight but managed. All fixtures & fittings of good quality. Nothing we needed that hadn’t been thought of. Large windows to sit in & watch the river rushing by. Good walks in the area, just wish we’d had more time to spend there.

Great few days away

A lovely break in this apartment within a converted mill. Plenty of space, good selection of kitchen equipment, utensils, and crockery. Each bedroom having its own en-suite was a bonus.
Loads of walks direct from the location meant we didn’t need to use the car every day. (Just as well as the road from Millers Dale was a bit flooded after heavy rain).
Yes, there is no mobile signal in the apartment, but step outside or go up to the next landing and it seemed to work ok there.
I will be recommending this place to my friends and family and hope to return at some point.

Enjoyable stay

Apartment is in a unique and picturesque location. Very well equipped and comfortable; loved the cosy L-shaped sofa. We enjoyed visiting the peak district mining museum (kids loved crawling through the mock up mine tunnels), the cave at buxton country park and also hiring bikes on the Monsal trail. Can also recommend food and service at the Anglers Rest, generous portions of tasty food. All in all a good week!
